Family News.

Greetings from Claire, the kids and I.  We hope that this will find you okay. We would like to thank you and your family for your continued support, your prayers and financial support goes a long way to help in ways you cannot imagine, we are grateful to have you on our team as this work is one that is of many hearts and hands.  We are thankful as a family for God’s provision, protection and good health He has allowed us. Claire and the kids are doing well and so am I. As   family we are so excited for David as He started school earlier this year. We literally thought he wouldn’t be as much interested given the fact that he is still very young and the school is at a place where he has been always going to play, we somehow thought he wouldn’t take it as serious. But God has given him a passion to love his studies and he singing a lot of songs from school and showing off his writings.  We continue to pray for him to continue growing in both school knowledge and to come to the Lord at a much early age. Please pray for our daughters Laushan (6) and Edith (12) as they continue to study and know the Lord in the ways He can allow them to.

Pray for our son Joe (9m) to continue growing well and to have good health as he seems to be eating everything he gets his hands on. Pray for Claire and I to continue growing and enjoying our fellowship with the Lord and with one another as we raise these little ones and the many children God has given us in the community in the way of the Lord.

ESUUBI COMMUNITY CHURCH.

We are thankful to God for the body of believers at Esuubi Community Church. God has allowed us a wonderful fellowship in both the adult congregation and the kids’ church.  Claire recently took on the responsibility of teaching the little ones and leading them in their worship. She is enjoying that as she does so well with the kids.

God has granted us the grace that most of our young people have come to know Him at such a young age, we pray that God will continue to us in their lives and will guide them on the path of truth in a world so messed with many ideologies.  We are more than thrilled to let you know that we will be doing our first Believers’ baptism this Sunday on the 7th of April. We will be Baptizing about 10 people [adults and teenagers] This is going to be the first ever believers’ baptism to be done in this community. We are thankful to God for His grace in saving His people in this community. As this community God has called to serve was known for witchcraft and drunkardness.  Nothing good came out of it, but in these last days, God has visited it and He is surely doing amazing things here. We are more than privileged to be only a little part of the big things God is doing here.

As a church, we are in the process of registering with the Baptist Union of Uganda so that we can be able to operate under some form of accountability.  Please pray for this process as it seems a bit tedious but a worthwhile pursuit.

MEDICAL MISSIONS.

We continue to serve the people of our community and the neighboring communities by meeting their medical needs for free.    It’s been quite a hard balance to teach at the school and at the same time take care of my Medical roles in the community. There are times I am called for an emergency while in the middle of teaching a class, we are therefore praying for funding toward the school, so that I can be able to get out of class and focus on other ministry roles.

Examining a kid in one of the medical camps.

We had four medical camps I January in which we were able to each close to 800 people in two different communities.   We still get invitations to go and minister to different communities, but it’s quite expensive to set up a medical camp, we continue to trust the Lord for a more sustainable way to keep the medical missions going.  In our home clinic we continue to have patients come to have their medical needs taken care of. We receive an average of 6 patients a day, mostly elderly women and children. This clinic continues to be a blessing to the community and the neighboring communities as people walk for some 5 Km to come and receive medications for themselves or their children.  Sometimes we are able to use these opportunities to engage them with the gospel and God has allowed some to come to Him in faith and a big number of them to at least hear the gospel preached.

We are thankful to God for He has through our ministry kicked malnutrition away from our community. When we first came here, you couldn’t see three kids and don’t find one who is malnourished, but through health education and providing of nutrition supplements, malnutrition has really gone down.

FOUNTAIN OF LIFE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL.

I am sure this a new name is our Newsletter. We praise the Lord for the wonderful ministry tool and academic tool He has allowed us in our community. What a blessing!!!

Kids learning in Class.

This is a real deal, I am not sure we can express the joy and the privilege we have to start this school going, lots of good things are already happening. If you follow us on facebook , you would know most of the things that are happening in the school. The kids are learning well and we have a chapel every Wednesday were we open God’s word and learn from it. We are currently working through the gospel according to John.

During one of the chapel.

Each Kid   has a gospel of John handed to them. For some of these kids, their chapel book is everything they have ever treasured, you can tell from the inscriptions they have put on them.  Thank you for your unrelenting support. If you are new and interested in knowing more about the school, please go to our website esuubicommunity.org and look up fountain of life.    Though the school is really doing well, it is quite a challenge to run it, we currently have 70 kids that are studying in our school and we expect more in May.  We are supposed to survive on donations, but this has been a big challenge as we currently do not have a sustainable source of income to take care of the school bills; paying the teachers, their housing, school supplies for the kids and their meals. We is thankful to everyone who are going out of your way to support us in any way you can with your finances. Please pray for us or even support us financially as we really struggle to keep going each month.  Pray that God will get ahold of these kids hearts, you never who some of them will become in 20+ years to come.

KIDS CAMPS.

We are looking forward to our holiday kids and teens camps coming this May. We expect a great number of kids to be camping at our campsite.  Camp is always a great opportunity for us to reach the young people with God’s word and create a conducive environment for them to know, continue growing and exercise their faith as they serve one another.  Please pray for volunteers to come and for us to be able to get the funds that will help to run this program.  Pray that God will challenge the hearts of the young people to live for Him as His word is being shared.
